Damage on rear - price advice.
« on: November 26, 2013, 04:55:00 pm »
Heh guys. I'm currently loving in France and will be driving home for Xmas soon. When I purchased my LHD mk5 GT TDI it had a 'dent' on the rear bumper and boot. I want to get it fixed but the quotes iv had seem crazy high.
Almost considering filling, and re spraying myself. What would you guys do? And if you would get it done by a garage how much would you expect to pay?

wouldn't repair the bumper would replace with same colour if I could if it needed spraying I would fill the tailgate myself and then get the wrong colour bumper and repaired tailgate sprayed at the same time

top bumpers are the same across the mk5 range with or without reverse sensors and can be picked up cheap on ebay and filler is cheap as chips , paint for both should be £100 -£150 depending where you go

local pick up maybe but I think if the bumper was changed you would need to look hard to see the repaired boot shipping the boot would be a risk it could arrive in worse shape than yours
