Abs light, traction control light, tyre pressure light

1 fault found: ABS wheel speed sensor rear right (g44)
                      003 - mechanical failure - intermitent

does this suggest the sensor is faulty or the abs ring on the bearing or something else?

I think you're missing the main fault code number.

I've got this exact same problem.

All there lights (ABS, Tyre, ESP) came on one day when driving.

They go off when turn off engine and start again but come back on after few miles driving.

Just been to garage today. They said was was showing error code for rear sensor so replaced it but all lights stayed on and now, the power steering has gone and that warning light stays on too. So they made it worse!!

They told me it needs to go to a VW dealer as it could be the ECU.

I had the ECU replaced 10months ago at a huge cost so It better not be that again.

Does anyone know if ECU are typically covered under warranty?

p.s I'm no car buff so I may have some info/wording wrong

Any help or theories on what it could be would be much appreciated

Both the sensor and wheel bearings are common problems  - you can test the sensor with a multi Meter or VCDS.

Last member who had this problem was Bower - read his posts as he had a torrid time but did sort it!

just had this problem myself.
i started with the cheaper/easy option and changed the speed sensor, that cleared fault for a few days but came back, i then changed the wheel bearing (abs ring built in) and fault has now gone. no way is it ecu its either one of the above

Was thinking it was more the bearing as the fault is intermittent, is there anything else I can check on vagcom to confirm it?

The abs ring in the wheel bearing or the abs sensor itself

its pretty easy one connector to remove and a allen nut but it will be wedged in there so only way to get it out is to break it out

To those who have replaced the sensor and successfully resolved the issue, did the sensor have visible sign of wear?

I have the same lights on and took the sensor out with the intention of replacing it but had been sent the wrong part, the old sensor was visibly worn at the reluctor end, I had to put the worn sensor back in and i've not since gotten around to replacing it with the correct part.

Just wondering if its normal for the sensor to show wear, or if this is a likely sign the baring/reluctor is shot?
