Front ARB also fitted (on the driveway) what a nightmare, it nearly broke me so I broke it by cutting it in half with a grinder  :jumping: Would of been so much easier if I could of got it on the ramp ohwell its fitted now. Got an alignment booked in for wednesday. Roll bars have made a crazy difference, struggle to get it to understeer or oversteer both set on soft it just feels so balanced, I can take corners much faster  :driver:

One from saturday after finishing.

Well been busy buying stuff.

Bought a daily, got fed up of putting motorway miles on the gti and I got fed up of putting fuel in it... Do 60 miles a day.
mk3 TDI put 5 thou on it, shes a dream. Bought coilovers with the intention of decking it, changed my mind and sold them a day later thankfully.

Took her up to the lake district. Was awesome.

Tried on a friends Rota's, hated them.

Bought a cheap 3" decat from ebay, few of the welds looked a bit weak so got a friend to beef em up. Also wrapped it in heat wrap. Sounds cool definitely wont be purchasing a cat back.

Set of Goodyear eagle F1, good tyres kind of wish I would of gone for some road legal track tyres but they will do for winter I guess

Was supposed to be saving for more important mods but when these came up in the market place I couldn't resist. A pair of cobra suzuka pro carbon buckets, bought them off Shaun thanks mate. Fitted them and out came the back seats while I was on. Massive weight saving as you can imagine, transformed the car and the fact that the seat holds you in place helps to drive a lot quicker.

Love how they look from the side.

Bought some cheap camber tops off ebay just to get me away, they bang like a barn door! They will do for now till I have some money for KMAC's.

Pre Spacers

Post Spacers, think there is about 3 degrees on there will let you know when its tracked up.

Finally latest purchase, set of AP Racing CP7040 calipers with two piece discs and ferrodo pads. Im yet to get these on, been waiting on a rear set up, which I picked up last night off Nicky. Gone for the R32 rear setup.

So that just leaves me to fit all the brakes. bleed them. Fit TT console bushes and then finally alignment and I can be back to driving it. In two minds whether or not save for a clutch and a diff, or get a stage one map and then save for a clutch and a Diff will see how I get on.

Awesome stuff! Didn't know you'd done so much to it, and it's hardly the nail that was described at Cumbria VAG :happy2:

I'm definitely going down the performance route with my MK5 rather than air and wheels like the MK4

Car looks so nice.. In the market for a Mk5 now too... Im irish and I dont think if seen any Edition 30's here for whatever reason. How much do the ARB's set you back for both? Will be running air aswell so want it to be nice and comfotable... Had mk4 on air without arb on front and it wasnt nice and wears out bearings.

Great car & build thread Matt - glad to see someone doing the handling & brakes before more power!

Interested to hear about the ARB's - will be having a set fitted to mine soon. Is there a reason you went for the larger 28mm front, 26mm rear H&R set-up, over the 26mm front, 22mm rear?

Ayup buddy, nice to see you on here. It looks alright from a distance lol paint needs a bit of attention.. Be alright once yippy has given it a detail  Its the best way can't be arsed with stance.

Thanks Tracey its coming along. Think they were about £375 can't remember the exact price. The ARB's are set to hard all round and the front one is just about bearable not much ride quality left to be honest with you.

Looking Good :happy2:

Cheers Dave, its getting a bit more interesting if anything. The ARB's are absolutely quality, difference is night and day. It takes corners flat, its hard to oversteer and the understeer is masively reduced just keeps gripping. I was unsure which set to get to, went for the bigger set based on other people's reviews really, some people were worried about the loss of comfort which I wasn't bothered about. Like I say there both set to stiff, the back is fine but the front is a bit harsh. I know a lot of people dont fit the front but I think it needs it.
