Their, there, they're.
To, too, two.
We're were, where, wear.

I'm also going to keep this short to reduce the chances of flaming.  Within reason, I agree.  Slack grammar and poor spelling places the burden on the reader rather than the person who wants to be read.  However, it can be taken too far.  The rule on not ending a sentence with a preposition  “is the sort of English up with which I will not put.”

Less Churchillian, but still a favourite:  Grammar is the difference between knowing your sh*t and knowing you're sh*t.

Totally agree with the above. I can accept the odd mistake in spelling now and then as long as it's a seperate/one off occurance. But people that have it in they're head that word's are definately spelled a sertain way, get my blood boiling.

Plural's of word can always be safely spelt (it seems) by adding 's to anything. :-S

Please wait til i don my flamesuit...

I know it's the internet, and there are no 'rules' as such. But it does my head in time and time again when you see grown up people (on the outside anyway) who cannot spell simple words or have a basic grasp of English grammar.

I am not talking about non-English speaking folks. Most of us Brits don't speak a 2nd language so we can hardly complain about foreigner foreign people on here using our language.

ByBut I am more thanuntitled entitled to speak my opinion on folks that don't know what basic words are.

Please feel free to post things you find on the interweb that question people's IQ level and if they need a dictionary thrown at them.

I found the above example on a popular Golf forum so took the opportunity to correct it...

The one that seems to be sneaking in under the radar is....defiantly and definitely. I believe this to be an autocorrect butchery syndrome. :fighting:

My way of viewing it is, if you can read what the poster means and understand it then what's the actual problem.
people complaining about grammar is one of my biggest hates. People who mix up your/you're annoy me but not as much as the people who take time out of their day to correct them

Got nothing better to do????

On another forum I use if you pick on peoples grammar or spelling you get a ban.....

i totally agree. i don't tend to capitalise my posts but i do ensure my spelling, grammar and punctuation are largely correct.

i think people who write "definately" should be removed from the gene pool.

My Spelling and grammar is crap on interweb sites... just can't be bothered to check it over, as long as I can get the gist of a post, it's all good.

The only one that annoys me (I have no idea why), is "brought" and "bought"...

I'm usually forgiving as well. But drawers has 7 letters in it. The number of times I see people posting up -

I'm looking to fit under seat draws...
My Ikea draws only lasted 3 months... (Friend on Facebook).

 :stupid:

Puts hands up….. Guilty of this sin and over the last few day two (oops) to or is it too  :signLOL:
