Grammar Rant (and words)
« on: December 03, 2013, 05:55:04 pm »
Please wait til i don my flamesuit...

I know it's the internet, and there are no 'rules' as such. But it does my head in time and time again when you see grown up people (on the outside anyway) who cannot spell simple words or have a basic grasp of English grammar.

I am not talking about non-English speaking folks. Most of us Brits don't speak a 2nd language so we can hardly complain about foreigner people on here using our language.

By I am more than untitled to speak my opinion on folks that don't know what basic words are. My Golf never came with under seat draws. Nor will it ever have them fitted. VW never offered underseat draw storage!!  :stupid:

Not did they offer Omanty wheels, on any car!

There they're their, I'm not freaking out. Nor am I anally OCD about every word I speak or type.

As Peter a Griffin says: it really grinds my gears!  :fighting:

This is just a quick post. I intend on updating it with examples of stupidity from the internet (I'm not intending on solely bashing the forum users. ;-)

Before I go, I know there's a time and place for, "I can has cheezburgers?" And "o rly?" I love a good meme but these are intentional misspellings!

Please feel free to post things you find on the interweb that question people's IQ level and if they need a dictionary thrown at them.

I found the above example on a popular Golf forum so took the opportunity to correct it...

My Spelling and grammar is crap on interweb sites... just can't be bothered to check it over, as long as I can get the gist of a post, it's all good.

The only one that annoys me (I have no idea why), is "brought" and "bought"...

I'm usually forgiving as well. But drawers has 7 letters in it. The number of times I see people posting up -

I'm looking to fit under seat draws...
My Ikea draws only lasted 3 months... (Friend on Facebook).
