Mileage is low enough for a 2005 model. Nasty set of alloys

That's what I thought..and average should be 90..

Had Cambelt and water pump at 50k..

Also Monza 2 alloys are included In price so I can sell them both and buy my own :D

seems good on the surface. only way to know for sure is to go have a look/drive. see if he's got receipts of work done i.e. cam belt etc.

Watch out for HPI and accident issues, cause that's seems like a car a friend would of been happy to buy off you!

Abou 5mins away now :) is it reasonably price then? Getting the standard parts aswell and he did say come later on so can take me for a proper spin because he had his daughter earlier on ..so can't really be hiding any problems as such..

Some cars have faults which can't be fixed because of there nature, so don't sell it to friends or family!

Go with an open mind and don't buy in the dark finally,photograph the seller beside and in the car for sale!

Just had a look everything looked fine except quite a bit off maybe under oil cap :(

Was adamant to write me a month warranty that he would buy it back and it was not the head gasket going..:/ is it always 100percent  head gasket if Mayo under oil cap ..he said he's been to France also aswell

Also was saying because it's been stood it's just water condensation...

It is common this time of year to have some mayo under the filler cap if the car isn't given sufficient time to burn off any water vapour in the oil. If there is no sign of oil in the coolant header tank, proabably down to short journeys i would be inclined to believe it is condensation and not the head gasket.

One more thing ..we wiped the ill cap clean and took it for a good thrashing was playing with an s3 and kept up when we returned they was more there but not as much..also a tiny dot off Mayo on botten off dipstick..

Town or short trips driving cause the same issue with the Mayo!

Remember, if something seems too good to be true it tends to be that way!

Why is he in such a hurry to be out of the car - tell him you want an inspection from the local VW dealer for both mechanical and bodywork and for them to HPI the car - then tell the dealer you want it checked against the build recorded and if it's an import for your insurance!

It's a Golf not a bentley lol, if you go prepared to check things out more than good enough to get cracking with it yourself!

Just apply common sense, ask the right questions, etc.
Some people are just in a rush to get cash there's nothing dodgy about it at all... as mentioned mayo under the cap is normal with these cars if driven on short trips... if nothing in coolant tank you're fine.

checked everything and it was fine except that mayo :/

and rang my mate who breaks vw and gf's uncle who used to be a mechanic and both said leave it :/

and he needs it for another house deposit ..tbh he did have a 13 plate m5 on the garden aswell.. lol

nothing in the coolant tank i could notice but a tiny smidgen on the dip stick im really annoyed because i wanted it haha
