checked everything and it was fine except that mayo :/

and rang my mate who breaks vw and gf's uncle who used to be a mechanic and both said leave it :/

and he needs it for another house deposit ..tbh he did have a 13 plate m5 on the garden aswell.. lol

nothing in the coolant tank i could notice but a tiny smidgen on the dip stick im really annoyed because i wanted it haha

but getting mixed reviews

Take the car for a long drive on the open road.
But up to you anyway. While an indication is mayo on the oil cap of a failed head gasket it is well documented on these TFSIs for loads of short journeys especially in cold conditions can cause problems.

Some cars have faults which can't be fixed because of there nature, so don't sell it to friends or family!

Go with an open mind and don't buy in the dark finally, photograph the seller beside and in the car for sale!

When you say faults which can't be fixed.... what type of faults are you referring too?

why do you need a photo of the driver beside the car and inside? if you think the car is dodgy enough to want a picture of the
"owner" then just walk away, or am i missing something.

not sure about others, but i find the photo taking a bit odd.

If you want the police to help you in the current climate, you've got to be seen to be taken every precaution.

This would show two things :-

The owner is who he says he or she is.

If he's not the police will with the photo and it will assist in a claim if you've been the victim of a fraudster!

Finally, cars which have been flooded, have a history of being as good as impossible to cure (there intermittent faults and wiring bugs means NO RELIABILTY.

Thanks for the reply, have you taken pictures of the previous owners (of cars you've purchased) before? i'm curious to know if this is normal (general practise) as never heard of this before.

When you've been robbed your last thought is about offending the seller!

For me it's common practice - just read some of the post on here (items for sale) where members have been robbed by so called honest people for low value items!

In fact it's proven handy in a recent accident, where the driver tried to be too smart and say he was the passenger!

I always ask to see photo id with address on and Make sure it is bought from the address on the log book

if either of them are a problem I would not buy the car

The car looks lovely and great spec and mileage, did the service history check out ? When did it last have a new pcv ? My gti get mayo on the cap due to my very shot commute of 2.7 miles ... My head gasket is 100% no going.ask to have the car inspected and do a simple compression test
