New Number Plates
« on: November 06, 2010, 08:43:35 pm »
I have just rceived my New metal Number Plates  and plate Surround for the rear today from Dubmeister.  They look great , but does  anybody have any best tips for fitting them .  I am not that technically minded when it come to working on cars and I do not want to make a mess of it .

Do you already have screw holes in the rear bumper from the old plates? If so then I suggest putting the plate holder on the rear, then use the screw holes already there to secure it in place, then put the number plate in, and secure with the remaining part of the plate holder.

For the front I have done the magnetic number plate holder trick, which so far has worked just fine and looks pretty cool too. If you don't want to do that then I found that the Halfrauds double sided stickies work very well/

I use velcro for my rear plate. It needs replacing once a year but it's only cheap.  :happy2:

Is this what people are using?

Mrs got me new plates for my B Day so would like to stick em on the front.

Any better solutions/tape with the exception of the magnet trick?

I tried that... It's crap!! I've had stickier sh***s

May I recommend getting a metre of 3M 5952 double sided foam tape from eBay. It's strong...
