Help choosing exhaust please
« on: December 08, 2013, 09:46:08 am »
Hi there I'm currently after buying a cat back exhaust for my gti, the car has a 3" turbo down pipe and de cat fitted ( pipe werx ) and I'm now after a cat back system, must be 3" as next year I will be going k04 route.. I'm sure everybody will recommend miltek but what about cobra ? Jetex ? BCS? Any others ?

Milltek with a decat will drone for sure

Pretty sure Wigit has just removed a Milltek from his Pirelli after he got sick of the sound. Try BCS, they make some fantastic quality systems with quiet "prestige" exhausts or Valved exhausts which are quiet when pooling about but all hell breaks loose when you open the taps  :happy2:

Or if you have a decent custom exhaust manufacturer close by, they should be able to make one to meet your needs  :happy2:

If I was in that situation I would be looking at getting a full sports cat system from BCS and selling the Decat down pipe.

I had a de cat on my car but couldn't be bothered swapping out the cat every MOT so ended up getting a BCS power valve system

I have a local custom exhaust place who did my suitcase delete which is now to loud and sounds horrid since the down pipe and decat have been fitted... De cat is no problems for mot's :-), I don't mind if it's not super quiet as I would like a nice burble but I am not happy with a loud exhaust... What are people opinions on running a non res cat back with a 3" do and de cat
