sat nav update
« on: December 08, 2013, 07:23:02 pm »
Have OEM sat nav unit fitted to 2006 model. Has a cd disc which most postcodes are on, however, of late a couple of times a postcode I have entered isn't recognised/can't be found etc. Is their an update disc I can get and if so where's best as I van imagine probably expensive from VW. Also, have tried with no joy but anyway the unit (the one without chrome buttons) can play DVDs?

if its an RNS 510 unit you have, you most likely need to update the firmware and install new maps. I do the discs if you want them?

Is this the unit you have?

A 2006 model I would have thought would have the older mfd2 you can still get updates for it from various map disc resellers on the internet.

£196 ish from the dealer  :surprised:

Sometimes they come up on eBay

Or if you ask nicely someone like myself may well rent you the v9 maps for not much money - I have a genuine disc :happy2:
VCDS cable HEX-USB+CAN. New but can do the basics including coding
