Non starting Golf 1.6 fsi
« on: December 13, 2013, 11:56:01 am »
Can anyone help if possible. My Volkswagen golf mk5 1.6 match fsi is not starting at first I assumed it was because of the cold. But I'm getting warning lights on my car of which none of them is the actual problem. When I twist in the ignition before trying to start it usually there would be engine management light to indicate communication with cluster to ecu but nothing. All I get is these lights as seen on the pictures. Has my cluster gone faulty or is this some wiring problem?

Anyone please help!

Can anyone help. Please. My assumption is that there is something wrong with instrument cluster as diagnostics say no communication with ecu and throttle.

Are you looking for help based purely on a photo of your dash lights?

I'd be a millionaire if I could do that.  :signLOL:

Do you have access to vcds? Are you close to someone who has access?

With some scan results you might get a better response.

I assume you've tried the spare keys if yes then:-

You need to start with a scan using VCDS.

Have a look on the above link if you've got anyone local.

The fault could be many an item from blow fuse, can gateway or what you've mentioned etc.

I have had the Diagnostic Scan and it give me 01314: Engine ECU: No Signal/No Communication or ECU Read Codes Intermittent. I had the RAC Breakdown fiddle with the wiring loom in the ECU and possibly by pure coincidence the engine started up fine. I believe it is a faulty fuse/ corroded earth or I think theres something wrong with the wiring. Anyone in London with the know how on this would be highly appreciated.

Bad luck my friend, looks like your ECU is bad.  Your dash baord doesny even show that your are communcating with the ECU.  My GTi did that last year, tried several things but it was the fauty ECU.
