Black Mk5 golf gti
« on: December 14, 2013, 09:59:24 pm »
so i finally parted with my mk2 golf gti

and a few week ago i went and bought myself a mk5 golf gti

so it wasn't long till i started work on modifying the car, first i started with the suspension.
i opted to go for the jom coilovers, i had these on my mk2 and was quite pleased with the performance off them seeing as they are budget coilovers. so i bought a set for the mk5 and i am planning on changing to bags next year some time so didn't want to go too mad on spending a load of money on coilovers.
this is how the car sits at the moment, there are a couple of threads still to go at on the front.

a induction kit was next on my list and after hearing good reviews i went for the ITG maxogen intake.

next i picked up a milltek exhaust from awesome gti at a good deal, full turbo back non resonated milltek and sounds absolutely brilliant definitely worth every penny spent.

its all about the little things so i have purchased some genuine gti red logo mats and a little stubby bee sting aerial

was time to invest in some wheels for the golf, so i picked up some porsche 996 gt3 bbs wheels. 7.5j front and 9j rears

i am running nankang tyres 205/35/18 up front and215/40/18 on the rears.

the stretch on the rears

and the wheels fitted to the car

coilovers are wound all way down on the front, which is weird as my mate is running same coilovers as me on a mk5 and is a lot lower on the front with threads to still go at, where as mine are wound all way down.

Gold wheels looks good on a black car. Maybe a splash of gold somewhere else to tie it in with the wheels? I was thinking of Jom Coilovers too, how's the ride compared to stock?
