Where to buy NQSBBK?
« on: December 25, 2013, 08:03:12 pm »
Evening all, merry Christmas!

I am now in a position to buy a brake kit for the edition 30. After much reading on here about the pros and cons of r32 vs 4pot calipers I've decided to go for the Porsche NQSBBK. My question is, where do people buy this setup? Is it a case of buying all the bits separately or can I buy refurbished calipers, hoses, carriers and pads (possibly discs too) from one place?

On a side note, what high performance brake fluid do people recommend?

Thanks in advance, Chris

Castrol SRF is the best of the best, but is far from cheap.

Try getting in touch with Jonny here http://www.brakecaliperrefurbs.co.uk/
He may have some refurbished calipers to sell together with the fitting kit. He works in close association with our brake guru DaveB1976.

^^^^ Just about to type the same thing!  :happy2:

Bought my fitting kit from Dave and got my last set of calipers refurb'd by Jonny. Both top chaps to deal with, if not VERY busy.

PM Wigit on here, Andys a great guy and he's got a brand fire newly refurbished set of calipers and a lightly used fitting kit, with new lines, used bracketry and I think theres some nearly new M1144 pads in that box too. Kits complete and ready to fit. The whole kit was sent to us last year with the fateful words "no rush" (worst thing to say to me or Jonny) he heasnt seen them since but the calipers I saw last week were pretty much flawless and ready to go

Cheers Dave, I guess that Andy isn't looking to fit them to his motor then? I'll send him a PM. Have you thought about opening some kind of website, even just an ebay shop for people to purchase from.

^^^^ Newly refurbished calipers (with new pad retaining clips and bolts), a DaveB fitting kit and OEM Porsche pads (plus shims) and new OEM discs cost me £800 ish a year ago.

I'm sure DaveB can be tempted with the right incentive ...
