Trackdays and S3 Brakes

I now have upgraded to TTS discs (nice weight saving) and DS2500 pads which should be even better.

due to normal wear , I swapped to new pads and TTS 340mm cross drilled discs (my R32 345mm ones were too)
I see no reason why you would fit 345mm discs now other than they are potentially cheaper.
for the TTS disc = Smaller disc = no lip, and they weigh less = win/win

John, could share some details? I didn't know TTS rotors fit. I thought they have different offset.

I wouldn't mind tagging along as I've never done a trackday in my own car before and is something I want to do this year.

I didnt know either until DaveB the brake guru mentioned it.
340mm instead of 345mm , direct replacement
They are just over 1kg lighter than 345mm discs which is a great given that r32/s3 setup is already a little 'hefty'

on the road feel same as before to be honest, nice progressive pedal with good stopping power, not tried on track yet.
I have cross drilled as i like them, but performance wise theres little, if any difference from solid face (vented) discs
J Hook style slots some on here have too.

Do you have any photos of the parts fitted?

As is usual for the TT they get the good stuff.....

Don't forget regardless of what it says on the side of the box regarding diameter it counts for nothing....radius is everything

The carrier keeps the pad in the same place which is where the work is done. So TTS or R32 discs braking is the same the TT disc is way lighter

I'm doing project mu pads for the R32 caliper, not cheap at £300 plus vat but you could stay out all day with them those together with the TTS discs work very well

Can I ask if the pads that are listed for the TTS are the same as the S3 parts? I have an S3 setup and wouldn't mind the lighter discs. My Ds2500's are quite new and barely any pad material has gone. If I didn't have to replace them that would be good.

Bit confused now...did you mean the 345mm has an unbraked area?
I would have imagined that the smaller disc wouldn't have this.

It could just be the Mintex pads that are slightly smaller. But on mine is has left a small area unswept on the edge nearest the hub

I see. I'll check with JKM (they fitted my parts) and see what the prices are like for these. Thanks for your input.

It seems I need to use the TTS carriers as well (8J0 615 125). Anyone have a lead on a pair of these?
