Quick question R32 xenons
« on: December 18, 2013, 09:36:12 am »
Ok so i've found a set of R32 xenon headlights including the phillips bulbs, the ballasts, ignitors etc.. and are in good working condition.
The only thing is there is a small crack in the side of one of the headlights. Would this cause any problems and can it be fixed?
Or will it be ok?
The guy said i can have them for £320 what do think? is it worth it with the small crack in one of them?

Why is he selling them?

Personally I would avoid as the cracked unit is likely to mist up in the cold weather and might even let in water.  All depends on how bad the crack is though.

Theres a company in manchester thats currently breaking an R32 mk5 and they have xenons. They don't really advertise except on ebay but when you go in person they always give you a better price than listed.

I dont have the number to hand its at home but can give it you this evening if you want it??

Yes please mate

The guy seems real genuine like, hes selling his mk5 tdi and putting the stock parts back on it ready for sale.
He had the headlights on ebay for £420 (where i seen them) so i PM'd him about them and made him an offer. He replied back and said i could have them for £320 cash if i were to pick them up.
Im really tempted to buy these as VW quoted me just over £2k.
The guy is also selling the rear view reversing badge camera for around £200
Hmm.. decisions Im stuck and i dont know what to do as really want genuine xenons on my gti

Don't forget you'll need the bumper with washer jets etc, plus self levelling system!

I Dont think you can with xenon's. You have cut / dremel them off and seal back on.
There's a guide in the how to section.

Auto levelling isn't mandatory with xenons so you don't have to fit it if you don't want to.
