If you drive in a similiar fashion post remap then you should see slightly better mpg.

This is true, as it is fun. But on the serious side, it won't change when normal commuting, driving and CAN actually be better due to the extra torque and less need to rev it higher for more go. Either way, it isn't going to make a vast difference..

330 - must be doing something wrong.

Getting close to 400.

Mainly sh1tty little runs too, with the odd job in Manchester.

But good post, been wanting to know exactly the same, but dare not ask.  Trying not to go down the performance mods, but finding it very difficult to resist.

from experience (APR) and from general forum surfing (REVO) , these 2 provide equivalent or even better MPG from a stg 1 remap.
Often the increased torque means you get to your speed quicker and can use a higher gear.
Obviously the temptation is increased so if you use it fully it will be less.

In terms of stock vs mapped (stg 1) theres NO downside in mpg , in fact it could be better for similar driving.
Only slight issue is that most remaps require 98+ RON (more expensive) v.s
you 'can' run the gti on regular unleaded (but I wouldnt do so)
I ran my ED30 on 98+ for stock anyway , so equiv petrol cost.

a good quality remap for an ED30 is a no brainer tbh (insurance costs aside)  :happy2:  :pomppomp:
