This isn't a APR HQ video and I believe it did those times.

APR's PR guru has arrived.  :P

I did a 9.1s 1/4 in my stage 1 ed30 yesterday... heres the proof!

The times have been verified to be genuine.

Where?

The car may well have done the time, but APR is still showing the wrong state of tune, which contributed to this thread.

A stage 3 MK6 GTI is their kit with either a K04 or a GTX2867. Their Stage 3+ tune has the stage 3 kit, but with internals. So, with a GTX3071R and full internals the car is a full stage 4 car. So, once again APR "accidentally" misrepresent their product, cause confusion and argument and get up the hopes of customers who think they can buy a stage 3 kit with some internals and have a 10 second car!!

Guy Harding does make some awesome cars, but if you want a ten second car you have to go to Australia to have one built for you that works RELIABLY!   :innocent:

Have you not watched the entire video. It accurately lists what mods where on the car for this run. The video doesn't say 450hp.

Looking at the mods stated, you would be able to tell it's got over 500whp. GTX30 and racefuel. Yeahhhh that's over 600hp crank for sure.

If you want a 10 second golf speak to race developments.

Finally Keith Lucas clears things up.

"Stage 3+ for the MK6 GTi references our Stage 3+ turbocharger upgrade product.  It does require uprated connecting rods so most people do pistons at the same time.  Not sure exactly what Guy's configuration is in that car these days but yeah, its beyond an off the shelf Stage 3+ and I don't think you can even buy the software he is using."

AND......

"Its a one off car built for marketing."

So, let's recap.....

I believe it can and does do 10's at it's state of tune and set-up on drag slicks.

It doesn't run APR software available to anyone, if indeed it is even APR software.
It isn't a stage 3+ car
It runs non-APR launch software

As Keith says, it is a marketing tool.

I think I've finally proven my points.

Didn't Keith say it runs one off APR software. It's DSG so runs DSG launch control, it's a stage 3+ like how mine is stage 3+.

And yes it's a marketing car, and no different to any other tuners marketing car which run special software not available to the general market, Revo do it and I'm sure so do GIAC.

Agreed, but it still says it is a Stage 3+ car! which it isn't and as Keith has said above even the software isn't something that is available!

I fail to get your point. APR built a bespoke car for marketing, doesn't mean it didn't do those times.

Also why isn't it a stage 3+ car?

Well put and again is one of my points. APR promote and boast about the performance of their own cars and then when people buy their kits and cannot get the same performance from them it upsets them. I also agree that other tuners probably do the same.

My point? My point was originally that a stage 3+ car wouldn't do 10's. It isn't a stage 3+ car as Keith has already stated, it is beyond that and a custom car that regular APR customers simply cannot get. I didn't say that Guy hadn't done the time.

Edit....

A quote from Keith in the last 30mins.

"Basically, you can't buy this from APR anywhere in the world as a regular customer."

It isn't a APR video though. It's a Guy Harding performance video showing the world what he can do using some of APR's components and their software albeit bespoke.

He hasn't mislead anyone, no one should be under the impression the APR off the shelf kit can do those times as it's a completely different kit.

Also APR kits don't do the times they say? That's not true at all, look at the TTRS and Golf R for example. The owners are posting faster times with their stage 3 kits than APR themselves state.

Keith has called it a stage 3+ Car, my car is a stage 3+ Car and they have had the same sorta engine work from what I can tell, so I'm confused as to why it's not a stage 3+
