I've read through start to end in the past 2 days and there has been some great work and the cars looking lovely. I must admit you lost me with some of the more technical stuff. I sure you'll do great things with the MK6 but personally I think they look a bit bland.  Good luck with the sale.

See, I plan to do nothing with the mk6 Golf R, because it looks fine as it is. The mk5 GTI generally can be changed a hell of a lot visually with different mods but you're right, the mk6 isn't as easy to change up. But I love the the way it looks as it is, bit of a sleeper (apart from the exhausts and R badges, of course).

Thanks man. I don't really plan to do anything to the Golf R beyond a few tiny upgrades if I'm honest. The point of it was to have a standard car that was still able to perform like my GTI. Granted, I think the GTI handles better what with its massive amount of suspension work but its so nice in the R to switch to comfort mode when on the motorway. If I could do the same thing in the GTI it wouldn't be up for sale.

If you can help it, it's a good ideea to keep the R stock. You have sufficient power, good traction, decent brakes and handling!  :congrats:
Nice all arounder!  :happy2:

If anything, decent pads and stainless steel lines are all I'll upgrade just to give it a bit more of a solid feel to the pedal. If I can be bothered or feel it really needs it I'll upgrade to H&R anti roll bars rather than any damper or springs as ARB make more of a difference than coilovers in my experience.

It's one of the first things I'll upgrade on the Golf R. Plans for stage one are EBD discs and red stuff pads front and rear, although tempted to buy a proper kit with 2 peice discs and 4 piston calipers up front. Forge do a front and rear set so may go down that route...

Ah, it was EBC that has crap discs, I think the pads are OK now as AKS use them a fair bit. I'll at least get pads for the short term for stage 1, I'd like some grooved discs to help keep the pads worn evenly and keep them cleaner. And they look cool.

EBC discs are ok, but its the pads that I don't get on with.

I stand corrected. I shall avoid them then and look to just save for a BBK.
