It is a bit of a shame, I was in the process of going stage 2+ on this car, sadly now my full exhaust system will go up for sale as it won't work with a mk6 Golf R. Probably payng over the odds for the one I want but it's a good spec and the call of the 4motion system is too great to ignore!

Car looks amazing, I doubt it'll be up for sale for very long.

Nice feature in Volkswagen Driver mag - good send off for the gti, eh?!
I'm guessing so, but have you sold / are keeping the Recaros?

I haven't seen the article yet! Excited now, may sell a copy of the magazine with the car for a bit extra service history. I plan to see if the Recaros fit into my mk6 Golf R without modifying the wiring, if not then I may sell them. Had a fair bit of interest in them already despite not even saying they're for sale!

Given enough storage space, that's what I'd do with the GTI but due to the mk4 V5 taking up the workshop, it has to go. :sad1:

Welcome to the MK6 R club!  Pretty sure the Recaros were an option so I dont see why they wouldnt fit and wire up.

Well, air bag plugs may be different. My Recaro's are from a 2008 R32 so they may not connect straight in and I'm not prepared to modify either the Golf or the seats to be honest.

Small update, in line with most of the audio building for the GTI, it's not gone well when trying to upgrade the stereo. I've sorted the wiring properly, got everything I need but I have an issue that the cage for the Pioneer stereo I have is a 113mm job and the fascia plate I have needs 103mm cages! Also, I can't seem to get any radio signal but this was also apparent with the Kenwood unit I had so I believe the stubby aerial I have may be to blame. Going to try and get hold of a stock aerial and test that out, otherwise it could point to a problem with the wiring from the dashboard back (which I don't want to deal with when selling the car!).

Still have this horrible sense that I've made the wrong choice by trading up to a Golf R but it's too late now, the new machine is sat with me waiting to become road legal (tax and insured before anyone thinks I've got some sort of monster). Had the car not even a week and already looking at suspension and brake upgrades ready for stage 1 tuning. I have a serious problem and I think I need professional help... I blame Hurdy.

+2 on the 'Hurdy Factor' lol! I've done it the other way round, power first then brakes + suspension. Brakes are a must at S2+!

I did my brakes shortly after going stage 1, but I've driven other stage 1 GTI's without brake upgrades. Was a bit scary to be honest, hence why I'd do the brakes first this time round.
