Starting problem

Hi all, I have a slight problem starting..... I have had my ED30 coming up 5 years now
and it has just developed the following, when I turn the key 1st time absolutely nothing
on the 2nd turn it usually starts fine. It never used to do this, can any of you electronic boffins
throw any light on this.
The battery has just been checked and it's fine !!!!

If you hear like a click/tick noise when you go to start it could just be the starter motor is on its way out.

How old is the battery? I think 5 years is about the life of them?
My ED30 is quite lazy starting (& has been getting worse - a 2008 & on the original battery as far as I know) - it does catch better when I leave the key in the 'ignition on' position for longer before turning it to start it - believe this is due to the fuel system pressurising.

Battery is original ( was 6years old in November ) did have it checked
a short while ago and it came up as fully charged and in good condition !!
Will see how this progresses and keep you posted, just seems strange
that first turn of the key it fails to do anything but on the second turn it
Usually fires up normally, really strange.
