Omega Seamaster Crown Problem

Anyone else had a problem with screwing the crown down on one of these ?

Its been a sod to get it to lock down tight and i think that the thread has gone

Off to Omega i reckon and another £200 odd bill , but at leqast it will come back shiny

That doesn't sound good, I take it it's out of warranty? Not had a problem with mine, they do replace all of the crowns and buttons on a service. When was it last serviced? Might be worth spending the extra and getting it serviced instead, mine cost £430 all in for a Planet Ocean XL Chrono

For a service? How often do they need/or should be done, makes me think twice about getting one.

I have only had mine serviced once and that was because it wasn't holding any charge. I will only get mine serviced when there is a problem with it as I see no other need to spend the money otherwise.
Don't let it put you off buying one, there's nothing like treating yourself to a proper timepiece!

Had it serviced a 3/4 years ago when i dropped it and it stopped !

They need servicing like any other mechanical thing , you can pay for a service with Tesco clubcard vouchers at Goldsmiths

I had my Omega PO XL serviced a couple of years ago (after about 5 years of ownership) for £195 at the same place I bought it.

PO's only need servicing every 4 years.

Yeah, I think mine lasted almost 5 years before needing its service.

Inflation must be a lot higher for Omega then. Yeah mine was sent to Southampton which is the main Omega Service centre for the uk. Hopefully mines not going to need any work for a good few years yet.

Cheers, have the Omega PO firmly on the want list, but for the time being i have just received a Citizen Eco-drive for Christmas

Tesco clubcard vouchers can be swapped for Goldsmiths vouchers and you get 3 x the value of clubcard vouchers , so £100 worth becomes £300 , expect this will cover it .

We have had a 2 week holiday in Gran Canaria on clubcard vouchers and the Omega itself was bought with them too , this was when you could get 4x on the vouchers too

Charge? That made me smile to myself. 

The coaxials should in theory need less servicing than traditional escapement.  Chances are I won't service mine until it breaks. My dad's also got a PO that not been serviced in ~5 years And it runs fine.
