Aux Input from rcd300 to rcd510

Right, when i got my car it had a rcd300 fitted, with a headphone jack in the glove box for the stereo.

Since then i fitted a rcd510, and when fitting didnt pay much attention to the aux input but now it doesnt work.

Will it be a simple thing i have missed or wont it work with the new stereo? Only reason i ask is going on a roadtrip tomorrow, so be handy if my mates could plug there phone in to keep them happy

According to this you might have this issue because VW switched some pins when transcending from premium 7 (RCD300) to premium 8 (RCD510) radios.

OR, it might just be a case of something not being plugged in properly?

Does your CD changer have a clear sound?
