Which coilovers?

After some coilovers just for aesthetics.

On a bit of a budget (I know that will drive some of you crazy lol), but don't want to spend no more than £400!

So ideally after some cheap coilovers that give a good drop and aren't crazy harsh, even though the GTI is just a weekend car.

Seem some JOM and FK Street ones, but also seen some rating them and some slagging them off.

Any ideas? The less I spend the better ideally (ideally for me... not for the car - I know, I know)

In the market myself right now aswell with 19's coming..
Was looking at JOM but think I'll get AP's..rest are out of budget for me plus overkill as I won't be tracking a sootchucker...lol

To be honest it's not that bad atall on a motorway drive it's smoother than standard it holds the roads a lot better, round town they are slightly harder but not to the point it annoys you.

I also have FK streets and can't fault them at all.  They can be a bit rough over speed humps and rough roads but other thank that they are great for the price. 

I'm quite low on 19's and have around 12 threads left on the fronts and on the rear I'm all the way down with the adjusters in.

Be gone for fk silver lines best of both worlds for the budget as the aps wouldn't drop anywhere near low enough but horror stories put me off Jom and streets, not a lot around for silver lines so took the gamble!

We run them on our Caddy and have a few customers with them and they stand the test of time better than the non stainless FK kits. We had a customer come in with some JOM's fitted for 8 months and they looked like they were 10 years old, hence us not selling them.

Here are my JOMs (only got a pic of the rear shocks and springs unfortunately) over a year after them being fitted, about 17 months in this picture.




JOMs are very good for the money.
FK AK Streets go lower. JOMs ride better. JOMs also come with a 2 year warranty. FK's only come with 1.

Stainless steel strut bodies are nice to have but the majority of rust is just cosmetic, the most important thing is the threads which if you apply copper grease and tape them up then you'll be fine for years.
That's all it is on the budgets. I from DPMPerformance.co.uk - Damian is a very good guy, I've dealt with him for years and always been a top lad. They will also price match (if not beat) any other prices you can find.
