What's not to like for so little money?

Really I am thinking the opposite.  Its £27k+, which can't be far off the new Golf R and S3.

Who pays anything close to list at a SEAT dealer?
Sideways yo!

Im having a hard time too, but he reckons hes ticked everybox.

Only thing I can think of, is that the finance dept have tricked him with the numbers/package hes signing up to and there will be some sort of balloon at the end

Well i guess if he bought it for 20K on finance they might be making up the 10K + profit in APR adjustment.

Big discounts are possible on BMWs, so anythings possible on a SEAT.

I think the car has far greater appeal than the Golf GTI. Its basically got all the performance pack stuff + more power from the get go. Although, id be tempted to hold out for the Cupra R which may potentially be 300+bhp and AWD.

The FR is more of a comparable car to the GTI really.

Also, dont forget you get about £2k worth of extras with LED lights and other bits. Not to mention the bigger brakes, wheels, better interior, diff. Can anyone confirm if this has the same diff as offered in the performance pack on the GTI?

On the other hand, it's a fair hint at the ED40's probable spec.

It would make some sense though, ed30 had 230bhp, ed35 had 235bhp so very possible the ed40 could come with 240Bhp, the anniversary models have never been about big numbers power wise  :happy2:

The engine is the latest EA888 version with an IHI turbo which has been reworked from the GTI version for cars like the Golf R, S3 and Leon Cupra.  So I expect it will just be (as before) a detuned S3/7R engine - maybe with some minor mechanical difference if any at all.

Nice to see they have put DSG on the list now and things look promising for a AWD Cupra R with 300bhp now - which is odd as it would match the Golf R which normally they tend to be a step behind - time will tell.

I don't see the point of the 265 version - same engine, same co2 so why bother ..

Money's on its the same Mechanical diff which the GTI performance pack gives you - why would it be any different.

I'll wait another year and upgrade to the 7R most likely

Ed40 I'd put money on having 240bhp but maybe the Performance pack as standard ...

Yeah... 240-250(perf. pack) would make sense given the 300bhp of the MK7R

I can't help but notice that the heralded DSG gives poorer fuel economy and worse emissions according to the SCN figures...

360hp from a tuning box.

APR have cracked the new gen ECU's so are probably writing files as we speak
