Question on replacing GTI High Level Brake Light

Ok I've read the guide here http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=121067.0

My question is, do you need to remove the 2 metal bits from the hatch before installing the new light (I suspect you have to) and if so do they come out easily?

Without traction power is nothing!

i would thing so as that is the fastener for the old one and it will stop the new one fitting properly

If I remember rightly they are just the old fixing screws and aren't needed anymore because you can't re-fit them. I think they just lifted straight out of the slots, not hard at all  :happy2:
