ETKA Experts please - Sorted
« on: January 12, 2014, 01:29:43 pm »
I have a part number which is 1J0973713G. This is the male part of the plug which connects to the EGR valve on my engine (BMN). I am wondering if any of our ETKA experts would be able to see if there was a female half. I am basically wanting to make a blank to keep water and dirt out as it is currently not connected to anything.

Thanks.

Possibly so but this connector is used for various other things and not only as an egr connector. My thinking was that there must be a female version used somewhere. My other alternative was to find a cheap egr valve to see if I could make something up from that.

I'm afraid to say that etka is giving no mating connector for this, just how it is sometimes,  must just be made only to fit your valve thing

I assume this is what you've gothttp://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/1J0973713G-6-Way-Sealed-Female-Connector_123446557.html not as you've described as male.

Ask them if they can offer you the male end to go into your existing female plug

Yeah one of those might work. Here is a picture of the EGR. It has the raised locating guide but if it doesn't have this I can't see it being an issue.

I think what would be the job is protective cap  - 6H0 971 921 A - £2.40 inc vat

However, I haven't found an image to confirm -  see if you can find an image but it's cheap enough.

Nope, not correct there.

Sarcasm for free. Anything after that can only be considered as a bonus.

Just because you think you know something, doesn't make you an expert if you've just read it on the internet, y'know.

Well done Viking :congrats:

Well I can see what you mean there then!

Well that puts me thinking it's 1j0 973 833 as quoted previously unless you can find something Viking?

Righto. OP has part number 1J0 973 713G. And wants the corresponding plug to blank it off.

So...
