I'm happy that there shouldn't be much to worry about, most of miles are motorway and I'm always careful on shorter runs to make sure the engine is nice and warm before giving it some beans, plus it's always been serviced on the button etc!
It's also standard so no extra strain on the engine/components, so I hope as someone else mentioned good for another x2.5 my current miles
Suspension was my first concern so I will be looking at these components first to help sharpen up the ride and will get oil pick up pump sorted at next service.
I've done my DV already but not PCV so will sort that and I've attempted to replace the cam follower at VW but they didn't have a clue and quoted my about £800
I've seen some DIY video's so will probably give this a go myself when weather improves.
Seems a useful thread as other Mk5's out there reach this milestone but providing we look after these little beauties then should be many more trouble free miles
