more companies for forum discounts
« on: October 31, 2008, 10:48:16 am »
Is there any chance at contacting some more VW related quality traders and companies for forum discounts?  I have a few in mind who are "quality" outfits, but will hold back on naming names, in case I tread on someones toes!  :happy2:

Hi T_T,

There are no toes to be troden (sp?) on here so if members are able to recommend a supplier and the company is happy to offer a discount to the forum members with no strings attached then I don't see any issue at all.

Thanks,

Steve

OK, thanks Steve.  Some some really good, praiseworthy and reliable compaines for starters would include:

Independent VAG specialists:
Inde-Tech - www.inde-tech.co.uk - Milton Keynes.  These are real "Gods" with the Audi Multitronic CVT gearbox, but are also extremely good as a general independent VAG specialist.  Never used them personally, but have recommeded others to them, and they really are superb - with faultless feedback.  One of the real "good guys" out there.

APS - www.AutoPS.co.uk - based in Berkhamstead.  Never used them, but have won many Audi Driver Magazine Awards as an independent - so must be good!

Road and Sport Developments - www.RSDcars-uk.co.uk - based at Daventry.  Independent VAG servicing, parts supplier and UK importer of Oettinger and Caractere.

REVO - www.revotechnik.com - say no more.

Parts suppliers:
Forge Motorsport - www.ForgeMotorsport.co.uk - needs no explaining.  On a previous forum I ran, will give 10% to forum members.

VW Speed - www.vwspeed.co.uk - Mike, who owns VW Speed is a real gem of a bloke, and stocks OEM and quality aftermarket bits at very competative prices.  VW Speed was formally known as OEMparts.co.uk.

TTshop - www.TTshop.co.uk - always a good presence at VAG shows.  For five consecutive years, they have won the Audi Driver Magazine award.  Although they are Audi TT specialists, the Mk5 Golf shares many components with the 2nd generation TT.

VAGparts - www.vagparts.com - like the TT shop, these have won (or made it to the "podium") four consecutive Audi Driver Mag awards

PowerBulbs - www.PowerBulbs.com - been using these for years, and are absolutely superb.  Sell only OEM quality bulbs from top European suppliers - no junk from the far east here.

Think that will do for starters!   :happy2:

Agreed TC.  But sometimes, some companies may be giving "more" even if they don't offer any formal discount.  Take Inde-Tech - they are considerably more proficient than most Audi dealers, and by going straight to them, you will not only get a much better standard of work, but it will no doubt be much cheaper than any of the official franchised dealers too.  Not to save all the hassle of being given the runaround which many stealers are good at.

Sometimes, you need to "think outside the box"!

I agree but there advertising will come from people like your good self doing exactly what you have done. I think i can vouch for Steve what we want to avoid is companies advertising and then expecting something from us.
Everything simple and above board is what i think we need right now.
Dont forget this is pretty new, one step at a time at first me thinks.
Your gonna keep us on our toes to start with.  :chicken:  :fighting2:
