Another R32 exhaust on a TDI thread
« on: January 26, 2014, 09:54:10 am »
Before I pay for a gen r32 exhaust, can some1 confirm that it will fit on my tdi (I know I will need a sleeve adaptor etc) does this present any emission problems etc?

Grateful for you're responses!

Doesn't affect emissions at all.
You probably know this already but make sure it's the same shape as the gti as the r32 style doesn't fit.

Is that a genuine r32 one mate? If it is it won't fit.
This is mine

It won't fit dude. The r32 rear axel is different to the tdi axel.
Your only bet is to cut the tips off and weld them on to your tdi back box and use them as a dummy.

Not guna part with the cash on a gen 32 exhaust if it cannot be fitted to a tdi...... Not sue yet! I've seen lots of tdi's with 32 pipes and now I wonder how they did it!

Have you already bought the R32 rear bumper?

I guarantee it doesnt fit.
Most people either run a miltek or get longlife to make them up a system.

Looks like your going to have to splash some extra cash and go the route George said. Not fancy GTI tailpipes, big improvement over hidden pipes.

32 pipes are my preferred but open to gti pipes either way was hoping to find a lower valance already painted in reflex silver!

You can buy a tdi r32 style back box off eBay, they're good quality and you get the benefit of having a real exhaust.
