Timing belt P/N 06D109110B anyone help with this?
« on: March 25, 2014, 08:36:35 am »
Is this timing belt with P/N 06D109119B an alternative part for P/N 06F198119A?

My Gti has an AXX engine and as far as I'm concerned it's 06F198119A that I should be using but since I'm not so sure can someone help me with this please?

It's 2005 MK5 Gti with an AXX engine.

Thanks in advance!

part number 119B is just the toothed belt (quite cheap) , part number 119A (quite expensive) is the repair kit eg the tension roller etc
Loads of extra's and retro fits.

part number 119B is just the toothed belt (quite cheap) , part number 119A (quite expensive) is the repair kit eg the tension roller etc

so I did order 119A (the kit) but 119B was sent instead from vwgenuineparts.co.uk
The parcel still includes the rest of the parts as description as a kit, only a different belt. I was charged slightly less too about £30?
Does it have a significant difference in the quality in terms of how long it lasts or the reliability?

And also i'd like to know if I can go ahead and fit it to my engine as it's well overdue in calendar schedule. My car seems that it never had the cambelt change yet and it's almost reaching its 10th birthday..

If 119B is not recommended, I will just get a new one ordered and sent this one back I guess.
