What the Part??
« on: January 20, 2014, 04:47:00 pm »
So, this part broke on my TSI and VW say that the part number doesn't exist!
The one pipe has suffered some sort of corrosion and snapped clean off (circled red). I've tried to glue it but with the heat of the engine most glues can't take it. Any ideas to what it does / whether i can drive it / how the hell i'm supposed to replace it if VW dont know what it is!?

Thanks in advance,

Matt

Just been trying to find it on etka myself, quite illusive,  so what year is it?  Take it its a golf just to check and any chance of a bigger pic to see if I can track it down via pipe diagrams. Hopefully be able to get somewhere

Its a mk5 golf 1.4 TSI (twincharged) [Engine code BLG]. Apparently that may be a mould number not product code??

Well I've just been through every engine pic for year 2007 , can't find anything near other than the G version already stated,  but this isn't the same as what you want.

Its very weird,  perhaps, the part is part of a bigger thing with a different number, can you check the other pipes attached to it,  see if its part of something bigger and get other part numbers

03C 103 175 G looks like it will work for me on illustration 103-073

Original has 4 ports the G version has 4 ports

Look at this

I do agree, but the engine code for version G isn't the same neither are the pipe entries, usually a revised version at least looks the same, but will probably work just one pipe might need a bit of manipulation

Worth a try don't you think for a person who has to effect some form of repair?

May be Viking will read the thread and comment as he is a dab- hand with ETKA.

Either way the poster has got something to go back to the parts supplier with.

Thanks everyone for their input :) I was hoping to get the exact same part, otherwise would maybe attempt some DIY style self tapping plumbing fixture.

I wonder if this feed (which goes to the n75 valve) is why I've been getting sporadic misfires on heavy accel

Anyway. Thanks all :happy2: much appreciated
