the something is obviously the gt3rs which from what i can see pulls about 3 car lengths which is alot to be honest and as said the gt3rs is not known for straight line speed, its what a mapped ed 30 would do to a standard hot hatch, own it by a similar distance.

GT3 pulls away at high speeds, just because of displacement

gearing and aero play a part.

Indicated 170mph is hitting the limiter in 6th in the cupra/ed30 whilst the 997 GT3 RS goes on till 187mph iirc.

GT3 RS is built for straightline speed, but neither is the golf. The key is to remember that the gt3 rs is a awesome car and the fact a golf etc can keep up is awesome. No one would think any less of the GT3 RS because of it. With the GT3 RS its the corners that count, but a hatchback keeping up with a trackday porsche on the motorway is great pub talk.

Sorry bud, but for a GT3 RS to only pull 3-4 car lengths on a mapped ED30 from 30-150mph isn't exactly what most people would expect and IS impressive. Yeah the GT3 RS is a track slag, but it's still a sub 10sec 0-100mph car and by no means slow..

Also I assume the blasts you have had with a modded ED30 in a standard R26 must be down to driver skill, as a standard Meg against a modded Ed30 (like that one) would get it ass royally handed to it, by a lot more than 3 car lengths..

If that happened to me i wouldn't feel embarrased in the slightest, the 2 were neck and neck well into road legal speed limits therefore what this video shows is that if you were to come up against one say on the slip road you would do surprisingly well...  :embarrassed:

It just seems like a thread I would expect to see on a corsa forum.it nearly kept up with a porche! If that what floats your boat! I have seen plenty on track and even the ones driven by tools come past on straights faster than any golf ever has!

Yeah there issome skill acceleratin in a straight line (if you're manual).. Shifts for a strart, they can win or lose a straight line race. Otherwise every manual ED30 (or any car) would all run the same 1/4 mile times, regardless of driver..
Track is a totally different animal thoug..
I agree 3 car lengths is a decent gap. For not IMO in this case, witha GT£ RS from 30-250mph..
