Which steering module?
« on: January 24, 2014, 12:08:36 pm »
Hi guys

I'm after retro fitting a MFSW with DSG paddles to my GTI currently with no MFSW or paddles. I have seen a link on uk-mkiv website stating thse are the parts I need:

Multifunction Steering Wheel

Airbag wiring loom - 1K0 971 584 C

Slip ring - 1K0 959 653 C

1K0 953 549 AK - module required for Steering wheel with paddles

I am struggling to find one of these modules, does anyone else know if any other types would fit and work?

Thanks in advance

BK will also work and so will CH

if you want a cheap CH there probably replicas or fakes have a look here

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OEM-MF-STEERING-WHEEL-MFSW-MODULE-fit-for-VW-GOLF-MK6-GTI-1K0953549CH-/171182062893?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item27db3efd2d

i know it says mk6 but you can also use it on the mk5 wheel
Loads of extra's and retro fits.

nope high line is referring in this case to the high line module, not your red mfd, as the module will work with mid and high line mfd's

now that i can't comment on, if you read there advert they state there something to do with vw, so they might just be making them parts out there really cheap as new over here is about 150 quid, when i bought mine if i would have seen the ad i defo would have gone for this as the price is good, BUT its your choice

thats fair point mate seems a good price as the few on for sale in UK used are near the £100.00 mark up to £250.00  :surprised:

that would be good to know
Another member on here mentioned the seller for the above listed part on ebay is a good seller and others have used him. I'm looking to buy the airbag loom and the module from him, will see if the seller give a discount on two items probably not but worth a try!
