Second Car Needed - What to get?

Hi

The wife and I have a car each, she is currently using the Editon 30 and I have a run around as I have to use my car for work and visit some dodgy areas  :scared:

My Picasso just failed its MOT miserably so I'm on the hunt for a second car.

Budget is around £5500

I want something reliable, family sized etc

I've been looking at MK5 Golf Match's which I like but i'm struggling to find one thats half decent for my budget

Can anyone recommend anything else?

Hyundai i10, 11-12 plate for around your budget, fun little car , ideal for the wife. I've just ordered a new generation i10 to replace my 2011 car. Love ours  :love:
Cheap as chips to run, ideal for not increasing your monthly transport costs  :wink: road tax £20 a year :happy2:

I'm seriously considering getting one

Does anyone know anywhere that sells car stickers saying "My other car is an Edition 30 "?  :signLOL:

An Altea to a Leon is basically a Golf Plus to a Golf.
Little bit longer, taller and the rear bench can be split and will slide to make the boot bigger.

TBH mate, I wouldn't call VAG equipment reliable, so would happily say... AS reliable as a VW, especially modern Fords.

About 10 years ago now (God I feel old, lol), I had a Mk1 2.0L from 25k to ~125k with a wheel bearing + maintenance in my entire ownership... didn't have any real torque to cause issues though.  I'd pick each car on its merits and how nice the condition was personally. :happy2:

I'm 6ft 3 and drive it no problem. £20 of unleaded gives you near as damit 200 miles.
Headroom in the rear is the same as the edition 30 believe it or not, very tardis like in 5 door!.
Hyundai offer a 5 year warranty says standard.
Or if you can stretch your budget, have a look at the new gen i10. Designed in Germany, and it's brilliant. Mine arrives march 1st,
