Now for something a bit more trivial...
« on: January 26, 2014, 05:36:00 pm »
So I've lived with it for a few months but it's finally getting the best of me and there are a few problems that need to be fixed...

When unlocking my car or removing the key my footwell lights come on but the main one (above head by sunroof control) does not, anyone know why this is? It light up if I change it to always on but that's just annoying!  :fighting:
Wondering if it's a fuse or if the unit itself is buggered?

Only ask cos I'm doing led soon and there's no point if the lights don't work so throw ideas at me

Next on the cards...

Passenger window switch does not work

Central locking works fine and the little light in the emblem comes on so there it is connected but I can only control the windows from the drivers side

Again I ask because I'm gonna get the mk6 switches soon but wanna fix everything before I get there

Cheers in advance
Tommy

Its just a way of life.

Hi Tommy,

I know it sounds like a generic response but has the car been scanned?

Find your nearest friendly forum member and get it scanned first, it might point you in the right direction and save some time http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,120.0.html

Mine does this. The switch on my panel seems to be knackered but it's part of the pcb so I need a whole new unit. I can make it work for a few days by operating the switch a few times but it eventually stops working again

Check all your fuses! I blew one of mine changing a bulb in the map lights over the weekend
