Cd changer to mdi need coding?

A friend wants to change her cd changer to mdi unit for I pod if she buys a kit to go with her rcd300 will it be plug and play with no coding or will it need coding? Any help would be great

I thought that you needed a rcd/rns510 to use a mdi...
Without traction power is nothing!

the only option VW wise in an iPod adaptor, this is a basic iPod kit that fits in the glove box

the MDI kits only work with
RCD310
RCD510
RNS310
RNS510
MDI Armrest & Glovebox kits

Sorry my mistake its an rcd 310 i have the 300 in my golf  :stupid:

So will this need recoding to change to the mdi?
