« on: June 10, 2012, 07:53:13 pm »
Evening all

Im trying to figure out which wires to swap over. I need to swap over phone mute and front right and left speaker connections. After staring at both pictures and my connector block, Im totally   confused and looks more and more like an unsolvable puzzle.  :rolleye: Any help much appreciated

When I swapped from the standard RCD300 (with Parrot mki9200) to the RCD510, I didn't have to do anything other than refit the quadlock plug into the new headunit... I take it the RCD50 is wired differently to the old 300?

You need to move just 1 wire the one that says Tel Mute on the RCD500 wire need to got where it says phone mute on the RCD510 no need to move speaker wires...

Ive amended my original photo of the speaker block/connector. Am I right in thinking this is the correct positioning of the phone mute? Thats assuming its the right one Ive highlighted, from and too?

I think your right John, the RCD300 has the same wiring diagram. Had a quick google image search and seems to be right.

EDIT
Having been to Halfrauds today I can buy an ISO adapter but for 21£ to solve this problem but the nice young man was adamant I had to splice into one of the wires coming from the heater control panel, which I wont be doing. Anyhoo's after a cuppa tea and some more poking around, It looks like i need to swap out the yellow mute wire into the neighbouring connector block, which is smaller than where it currently sits. Maplin do a wiring repair kit, so we will shall see how that goes  :popcornsoda:

EDIT
No luck. It was a household electrical repair wiring kit.

I think I know what you're getting at now... see if this solution would put the RCD510 into 'mute' mode when using the Parrot kit then this would be excellent

At the moment the Parrot does mute the RCD510's sound when making a call, etc but the headunit doesn't go into mute mode.. I.E. if you were playing a cd, it would keep playing

This worked perfectly when I got the car. Had the RCD500 and parrot ck3100 already installed by the previous owner. When making and receiving a call the radio/cd was muted with PHONE display on the display. When I work out how to do this without masing the wires I'll post up the results.

On your photo above (the one with the yellow arrow pointing to mute wire's new location) I believe you should be relocating the wire 'one down' from where you have the arrow pointing, i.e. on the same line as pin 12 - not the same line as pin 6

I need to do exactly this so was wondering if you managed to sort it out and if so where you sourced the smaller pin to move it to the correct block?

I didnt manage to swap the pin. I think you need a special pin removal tool or something similar and patients of a saint. Neither of which i had.
