I think they feed back to the CECM to allow the shutters to operate when full beam is selected. As to exactly where the feed back to I'm not sure. I'm sure someone can confirm later on though.

Correct, they run back to the CECM, through the bulk head into the drivers footwell under the steering wheel.

PITA, but well worth the effort as xenons on full beam are immense

If no one updates this in the mean time, i'll post up a couple of links i used when i'm finished work tonight  :happy2:

Cecm under the the fuse box, pins A5 and D6, you'll also need it coding for bi-xenons :happy2: cant believe I know the pins off the top of my head

I couldn't find a definitive guide, i pulled from this guide to get through the scuttle panel and down passed the can gateway

http://www.r32oc.com/topic/29242-canbus-gateway-location-removal/

Then used this guide for the pin location and access to the CECM

http://www.myturbodiesel.com/threads/hid-retrofit-on-mk5-jetta-part-2.2293/

As Morty says A5 for the RH side and D6 for the left

Just remember to wrap the wire first in the black fabric loom tape, those yellow wires stick out like a sore thumb

HTH  :happy2:

No, the yellow wire should already have the pins on them?  :happy2:

Do you mean plugging the 10-12 pin adapter into the headlight. Sometimes they can be a little snug but as long you have bought the right one, with some firm but gentle persuasion it should click together :)

Sorry mate i wasn't aware at the time that you wanted them, otherwise you know you could have had them :happy2:

Nearly every thing went on the 2 dark side cars, there was only the seats and steering wheel that went into a friend of a friends car which i still haven't been paid for, obviously not a friend anymore :fighting:
