MFSW button retrofit .. Works without coding?!
« on: February 01, 2014, 09:28:13 am »
Hi all,

I have just installed the MFSW buttons onto my standard mk5 DSG wheel and they seem to work with my RCD510 - they control the volume and mute. However the buttons on the right seem to control the trip computer rather than skip tracks.

If I get them coded with VCDS will they control the skip track function or not?
I have the midline FIS (smaller one) if that makes any difference.

I have someone who can do it for me today but if it's not going to make a difference then it saves me a trip.

Thanks!

With midline, the way they are currently working is normal.

If you had a Highline

you would go into the AUDIO menu and then the buttons on the right would change track

As above - I originally had MSFW buttons added when I had a midline - the volume buttons worked, and the right hand buttons changed the MFD screens between MPG, DTE, hours driving, etc. When I had a hi-line fitted, I then had the full functionality - the right hand buttons now allow me to change track from the wheel.
Eddie did the cluster swap on mine - great chap, and can thoroughly recommend him if you need any coding / retrofits!
