My dealer told me today they are no longer available from VW as they have been replaced by the D version. Is this correct ?

Just give them the part number.  If they refuse, kick them and go to another dealer.

G is still current.

Interesting. Dealer said "no way is that part available from VW anymore".  Lying git then.

Anyone else find it amusing that the D is more expensive, yet is 90% the same part, with the different components appearing cheaper to produce?

Just give him the rev G full part number and get him to order that.  Don't give your reg.

Doesn't matter that they list more than one.  Just order the G.  :P
