Front and Rear badge replacement

Hi All,

Has anyone got any links to a guide on how to replace the rear and front badge on a MK5 GT Sport.

I have a set of Matt Black Emblems I want to fit.

Not an expert so step by step guide would be good

Managed to do the front quite easily so just need a guide on the rear please

If you mean the GT Badge, in the past i found the best way to remove the adhesive is to GENTLY heat it up with a hairdryer whilst slowly lifting one corner. The other way is to use some fishing line or the thickest dental floss you can find to saw though the glue. Which ever method you use just remember to clean the excess gunk off the paintwork before applying the new badge. WD40 is good for getting rid of sticky stuff

I meant the actual Boot Handle but I managed to sort it now and in the process cut my hands to pieces removing the boot hatch inside. I love VW but it is so nerve racking knowing you have to yank stuff off the car to the point you think you are going to break it

Sorry misunderstood 

Once you get past removing the boot trim, the rest is pretty easy. But its best to wear gardening gloves - well thats how i felt last time i removed one

Hey bro I recently did this a few weeks ago, I used this guide.

Please note: This is a guide on how to install a backup camera on you're rear badge but can be useful for you seen as it provides images and a pretty good explanation of how to remove the rear lid trim panel and taking of the badge, just keep scrolling until you see a  rear lid trim panel with many red circles and continue from there.

Definitely, Initially I used a towel and got my fingers in the edge covered by the towel. My fingers then got stuck and were being crushed. I think the shame of having to scream out help I am stuck was too much so carried on at the risk of losing my fingers but got there in the end  

I am thinking of doing the wiper delete next but not sure how you cope when it is raining

For me, i could not live without a rear wiper. On a previous car (2007 Audi A3) the rear wiper motor failed and i wasn't able to replace it for 4-5 days which coincided with 4 days of pretty much solid rain. Don't do it!!

I think I will leave it on. Does look really good without it but not practical
