So a couple of wee things done over the past 2 weeks or so:

So first off was to fit the new interior handles and mk6 switches. As you can see the old ones were hideously scratched:

So this was changed:

Next on the list was the R8 engine caps from Phope:

HOWEVER, I have a strange issue with the oil cap, it doesnt want to twist on and lock in place. I tried fitting my Dads Audi one to my car and it fits, and the R8 one fits on his car. My gti cap also fits onto his car, so its all strange  :scared: . Anyone any ideas why?

Next on the list was to fit magnets to the rear of the grill so I could have an easily removable plate, but they weren't strong enough . Also found that number plate stickies have not been kind to the grill over the past few years, so need to get this painted:

So I;m thinking I might go carbon  :happy2: .

And here it is clean :)

So more stuff!

Plates finally on, so it now feels like mine! Also have a cheeky US rear plate tucked away in the hope I can find a us rear.

Also to complete the chrome switch collection, I managed to find a fuel flap switch:

And was really geeky and bought the Mk5 boot pop kit from here:

Which means it will do this (dont know how to embed things):

So a couple of new bits for this month.

Found autotech HPFP internals mega cheap, so snapped that up and should be here tomorrow. That gives me everything for Stage2+ once fitted (apart from brakes and engine mounts)

Bought a new rev G diverter valve. Ends up the car already had the rev G on, but replaced it on the basis that it felt a little weak on boost at times. Now its alot better, and also fitted a Forge Atmospheric Valve from when did had his mk5 GTI.

I also managed to pick up full FIS dash clocks for £60, so awaiting delivery of them, and then have to work out how to code them!

And last but not least, started polishing these with Andrew:

They will have black inserts when I have polished them all, and some new tyres too, when I get round to it. Hopefully get them on mid april!

So a few things have happened.

Uprated Autotech HP fuel pump is in (after slight ballache). The mid range now makes me happy

Have bought a set of folding mirrors and puddle lights - trying to get all the options on the car

Paint was done by Greg. It is amazing!

I would bore you with before and afters, but it had a couple of dents, rusty rear arches, a couple of chips and paint coming off the grill. It is now mint and I would highly recommend him!

Decide to try the wheels on - they have made me happy:

As always, comments welcome!
