buy an edition 30/pirelli

S3 is a better car in every way!  :scared:

And vs ED30 or Pirelli price not really much in the cost... know if I was spending £12k where it'd go..

That's as it is at the moment. I use both and love both. The R32 does not sit in the garage all the time. Sometimes I swap them for a week and put the gti in the garage. I am not going through all the hassle of selling to get an ed30 or Pirelli for that much cash as I don't see the point. Not even sure of its worth it all for a mk5 R. Think if I drive a capable S4 for the cash and I really love it I could be tempted though. Just airing my thoughts as still not decided. For the money there are some very nice looking S4's about

With both the cars you have i think you will be disappointed with an S4 and the fuel cost isn't worth it either .

I am in a predicament that i have had my car for 3 years , i ought to sell it and upgrade it (Similar thinking to you , possibly) but i cannot find a car i would rather have for reasonable money , i would have a 5 door Golf R to replace my Ed30 but they are too far away and too much money generally . I don't like the S3 either , i keep trying to get my Mrs to sell her Mini Cooper and get a 1 series then i could get something a bit more 2 door ish

Not buying an S3 because i like a v6 or v8 idea like the R32. And no offence to anyone but I can't justify getting rid of the R to end up with a slightly newer gti with half leathers and nicer wheels. Not for the extra £5k

There a a fair bit of advice to keep both. You are hitting the right plan there.

Rocco R? ; better brakes, suspension, interior than the Eddy.

S5 can be had for around £15k... personally, I'd love one with a nice exhaust  Buy / Listen

"Almost", like having a TVR that won't break down... Audi capristo exhaust in action >>>

Although the joy comes from the Turb.... RS5

Well Im just in the process of trading my 58 plate 26k mile GTI in for an 09 32k mile MkV R32 because like you , I have a thing about large capacity multi cylinder engines and their soundtrack , but if I could , Id keep the GTI AND buy the R32 as well , so I would suggest just keeping what you have - the MkIV R32 is already a classic , just keep it and use the GTI as a daily , best of both worlds IMHO.
