Is my clutch slipping?
« on: February 11, 2014, 09:20:30 am »
Is this clutch slip? - 6th gear, about 3k revs, put my foot down and the revs climb to 6k like i am not in gear e.g. pretty rapidly!

This happened three times last night, twice going there and i recreated it out of curiosity on the way home

Hah. I will be selling the car within 4 months, can't decide if i should just have a standard OEM clutch put in or leave it, or uprated clutch..

Handbrake on, put it into 2nd... if it doesn't pull off or slips then it's on the way out

It's obviously slipping, that test won't help or prove anything other than waste petrol!

Just take the map off when you sell it. It won't slip on standard power, it's the extra torque from the map that's causing it to slip, not the fact that the clutch is goosed.

Mine slipped for 9 months with a map, had it flashed to stock and all was good in the world  :innocent:

Out of curiosity how much would a stock clutch or an alternative clutch on a remapped Ed30 likely cost? Are there  many alternative options to a stock clutch which offer any benefits if you're running a map?

Thanks D8MOA! If you dont mind me asking, what clutch did you end up going for and was that price inclusive of parts and labour?
