I don't do it out of joy trust me!
I get it done free every couple of times so that helps but at the end of the day I get full 4 wheel laser alignment for £15 (when I have to pay) and I'd rather pay that £15 every 2 months or so and help prolong my tyre life and driving enjoyment :)
You get it tracked at drive height (so the height you normally drive at) as you raise the car it does change the alignment slightly, if you raise the car while driving at speed you can feel the car change it's pitch and angle (even though my preset heights are all equal within about 0.2 inches all around, due to camber and slight toe changing.
Each time you raise/lower the car the bushes all jiggle about slightly.. after all it's not designed for that.
I have TT console bushes which does help.. but eventually I am planning on fully polybushing the whole car with superpro ball joints, poly bushes on both front and rear wishbones/suspension arms and rear axle bush.
Should be more resistant then
