No dab signal on rcd310

Just fitted  a rcd310 to my ED30 and cannot get dab signal. Should it automatically switch to dab if the local signal is good?
I've used a screen mounted Ariel so not sure if it's the Ariel letting the signal down or not.??

Not too sure mate. Just eliminating the obvious first. The RCD310 isn't one I've had dealings with unfortunately, but what aerial did you fit?

It's as if the Ariel isn't even plugged in, I'd have thought it would at least had low signal!?

Have you thought about a scan with vcds? That might tell you what the state of the aerial is.

This might seem ridiculous but on my RCD 510 I had the same problem for a while, I was getting increasingly angry that my DAB wouldn't work.

Then I realised I had totally missed the DAB aerial socket and was plugging it into one of the twin FM sockets. I dont know how the aerial sockets are set up on the 310 but just make sure!!!  :stupid:

I know this doesn't help but all the DAB aerials I've had dealings with came with the Black Fakra connection!

What type of connection has your aerial got - picture would be handy.

I fitted it without getting a picture, but I think it was a brass connector. So that might be the problem.
I might invest in a bee sting roof mounted Ariel . At least that will look oem.

Roof mount is the way - Eddie-NL sold me a couple of DAB shark fin aerials at a cracking price c/ w extension leads, I took the ones with Nav as well.
