RNS510 Firmware
« on: February 10, 2014, 10:26:59 am »
I have a couple of questions and in need of some info please.

1. I have updated my RNS510 REV H maps to V10 this week including POI's and cams. Everything went fine and is now working. I am currently running SW Version 3970. Is there any point updating to a newer firmware and if so to what?

2. I tried to update the maps on a friends Rev C LED but that just kept spitting the disc out. I also found it does not have the same menu options that mine has. E.G. no menu to allow personal POI's to be loaded. This is currently running SW Version 2840 and believe this is the reason. What version should this be upgraded to to allow V10 maps plus personal POI's and cams?

Thanks in advance.

1. If you go to 4120 you will get radio text, I believe 5xxx based software is for DAB units although with an H yours could take it.

2. Get your mates to 3810 at least, this partitions the HDD into three instead of two so he will intially lose all data (music/maps/POI), but from then on firmware updates won't wipe other data. Pretty sure you need this to get personal POI's and to load them off SD.

I have 4020a on my A unit, that is as high as I will take it due to hardware, but both the C and H can go higher if you wish.
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)

Use the 60/35/5 version if you have an old unit with 30GB HDD so it takes map updates (modded firmwares)

Hi Guys

Not trying to Hijack  :fighting: just in the process of downloading the Firmware for my C Version.

I already have V10 Maps, just waiting for a dual layer DVD to arrive in the post  :innocent: so I can backup my music

I'll be leaching on here with much interest  :happy2:

1 Quick question, Do I need the radio code with this Firmware ?  :scared:
