I'd use MRC depending on the engine, but I'm pretty impressed with APR's tuning philosophy, their pro-active customer engagement and their resources. It all depends on the car and your aims.

The focus RS is the green one with pink wheels.

2.0tfsi with a gtx30?

ahh cool i know the one henry isnt it?

I'd use mihnea for that for the custom mapping.

Yeah it's Henry

What's wrong with Niki?

The stage 3/4 maps from Revo are very very good imo.

mine is very good alex! maybe apr have just put more into the 2.5tfsi
you decided what your going to use on yours yet?

Now,  your talking a bit more sensibly..........

I mentioned in my first post that you rubbished, re driveability in the lower gears correct.  Once your up to speed and in higher gears its not so much an issue.  Now I am not a traffic light racer,  but these cars are hard to get off the line with big power and smoother mapping will help this.  People want WALK and Dogbones, mounts etc to help with launch (and hop), so its not just me who might want to shoe it away every so often

Why would you want a car with massive power that you cant get off the line if you really want to anyway ?

Any grievances I had were with your first response, not your opinion.  As you so obviously showed with mine.  I actually 'accept' others opinions

I can accept your opinion, but it's just that, an opinion, v-box data points more towards facts, which shows you are wrong with your opinion.[quote

There you go again,...............V Box data has nothing, and shows nothing to do with driveability.

If a v-box doesnt show driveablility then you must mean driveablility in another regard other than shooting off the line, as at that point I would argue if a v-box doesn't show it, neither will a dyno print out.

Nothing it's just that he asked about MRC. From what I can tell if use Mrc, niki or mikko from shark.

Who is writing revo's maps these days?

Dunno who does the main writing.  Does that really matter?

The stage 3/4 maps were originally done my Nick iirc.

Mihnea is part of MRC and writes maps for a lot of tuners on the continent.

I stand by my original post.  Spiky power deliveries mean less driveability (its hard to control the car even modulating the throttle) in the lower gears in all but absolutely perfectly dry and possibly even 'warm' conditions.  Its ok on the move, 3rd gear upwards etc as mentioned.   Most people who have a Stage 1 Ed30 never mind a 2+ or stage 3 car cant deploy the power available even with controlled throttle, I heard it said too many times for it to be wrong.  Now, as side thought here...... I've owned and driven Renaultsport cars with big power that CAN deploy the power (with smooth mapping I might add) without ultra critical throttle modulation, mostly you never see the traction control light and I really mean never, so we could start blaming the Golfs chassis/set up here on a stock car (but I wont since were on a Golf GTI forum ahem     )

One APR guy with the latest 3.4 software and making more midrange than the others although needs some better flowing hardware it seems to get some more ontop.

Gotta love how some of the APR users posts got deleted over there  :jumping:

Its quite surprising that a stage 2 car made more power than all the Revo and APR stage 2+ cars as well. Oh well lol.

Not really.  You are looking at peak figures and not the curve.
