I did speak to Alex at AKS tuning and he said he found a similar problem one time with a car and he basically said it was a write off because if the problems were fixed, there is no garauntee that another fault wont crop up after all that money has been spent on it. And other faults further down the line.

He said its not even a job he would take on... again I don't blame him as it must be a big job!

I've got two modules - 09 -19

As said FOC.

If it was me I would be getting the fuses in the engine bay checked and then fitting module 9 after I've disconnected all the others and working from there!

JohnA from this forum did the scan for me. I then took it to a VW specialist in Leicester (Nass Autos) and they also said I have the modules that are faulty. They said that it could be fixed however it would be time consuming but hes pretty sure he can fix it. I said to him are you 100% sure you can and he said no not 100% but hes pretty sure he can do it. So I couldn't take the risk of him doing all that work for it not to fix it 100% in the end. And with Alex telling me the same thing about it throwing up more problems even after the modules were replaced put me off even more.

Yes the car does run and drives like normal. That's the frustrating thing. Drives beautifully!

I don't know how they know 9 are u/s as the gateway can't talk to any of them, after checking gateway fuse to see if OK, I would change gateway, and just check every fuse as a matter of course.

Pity your not near me, sounds like a good challenge to solve, and as long as engine runs that's the main one sorted

To be honest I don't know if the garage did know for sure that the modules had fried as they didn't strip the car down or anything to get to them. They just basically did a diagnostics on it. I would hope they checked the fuses though. The guy didn't sound very confidant though when telling me all of this. Ended up costing me £76 for having a look at it for me.

It is a real big shame mate cos I could use all the help I could get right now. As you said it could be as simple as changing this gateway fuse? But I am no good with mechanics :(

Would it be worth taking it to another INDY for a second opinion?

Well, that's a difficult decision, you've gotta hope they know what to do, but they need a good diagnostic tool, but also be able to fix the gateway first to be able to talk to every other module, it may just be the gateway is the only thing at fault, it so hard to know
