Bonnet switch and door switches indirectly report back to ccm behind glove box, this maybe faulty and need replacing as well say 50 quid or perhaps cheeper or free

I've got a 23 byte CECM for a 5 door car in the house as well. Not sure it's a job I'd want to take on. How hard is it? Ed upgraded mine.

I have a reasonable idea how to do it after chatting with Ed a while ago John. I said to Craig about getting together and see if we can sort it between us.

Nice to see this happening. Always good to see some forum sprit when it's needed.

As for the window they smashed, tell them you'll be happy for them to replace it before you have VW do it and send them the invoice.
Sarcasm for free. Anything after that can only be considered as a bonus.

Just because you think you know something, doesn't make you an expert if you've just read it on the internet, y'know.

That would be great!

I spoke to the garage today and they are just waiting for the glasss to replace the little window they had to smash to get access to the car and they said it could be fixed this afternoon if it arrives and then I could pick the car up tomorrow morning. Failing that it might be Monday.

Matto and John - Do you want any drawings for that year printed off and included with the parts being posted?

It would be amazing mate! I'm trying not to get my hopes up but from what everyone is saying on here, it might not be as big a job as it first sounded. Just keeping my fingers crossed!
